Artistic framing techniques
For black and white, I decided on steel. It is a noble, living material. Light plays on its natural blue-grey, while the gathering rust marks the passing of time. The steel wires that suspend the photos from the ceiling let the metal breathe.
For colour, I insert my photos directly in plexiglass. This way I can stress contrasts and light intensity. This adds to the energy and depth. The effect is a photo in two dimensions. Distanced from the wall, the solid, perfectly polished plexiglass reveals its full luminosity.
